Hello crafters! Miss Lady*Cakes checking in with y’all!

You know, Cherish customers are just the best. My favorite thing to do is ask customers what project they’re working on. You are all so creative!

Sometimes, customers have questions for me, or need feedback on one of their crafty endeavors. So Miss Lady*Cakes is here to introduce a Q & A feature! Email me your questions, comments, quandaries and I’ll happily answer them here! missladycakes@cherishsf.com

Today’s question is actually one I’m asked almost daily (besides who does my hair, haha):

Q: Miss Lady*Cakes, what is a quick and easy way for me jazz up a card and feel crafty in the process?

A: Embossing! Embossing is a craft technique that creates a raised image on a piece of paper. Do not be intimidated- embossing is easy and takes only a few seconds to learn. Once you see it, you’ll want to emboss everything! It’s a quick way to make an image pop!

Just pick up a stamp, a watermark ink pad (clear ink), and some embossing powder. Stamp with the watermark ink, then sprinkle your powder over the stamped image while its still wet. Dust off any excess. Then turn on your embossing gun (which looks like a mini hair dryer) and watch the powder ‘melt’ into place on the image. It makes everything look so ‘finished’ and professional, and it only takes 30 seconds!

We’ve a variety of colors of embossing powders available, including a Glow-In-The-Dark one! And you can use our embossing gun with your $5/hr studio fee!

Experiment with the array of ink colors that just landed in the store today!

I love to emboss and I’m happy to guide you through it.

    Just don’t call me “em-bossy”!

    Your partner in craft,

    Miss Lady*Cakes
